Cafeteria Remodeling Project
Parents and Stakeholders of Nimitz High School! OUR CAFETERIA WILL BE REMODELED!

Friday, May 17 will be the final day in our current Cafeteria. Beginning Monday, May 20 breakfast and lunch will be served in two temporary trailers located at the North end of our campus. This renovation project is scheduled for a one year completion time. We know this will be a change in our routine but we believe in our students. We know they will adjust quickly and intelligently. The wait will be worth the results as our Cafeteria will be totally transformed. We are thankful that our district is providing this facility enhancement for our faculty/staff/students.

Please feel free to contact us if you have questions or concerns.

As we close this year, we appreciate your support and encouragement!

Visitors
When visiting our school, please check in at the front desk. Each visitor is required to show a picture ID.  The Drivers License or ID data is captured with an optical reader (using V•soft) at the visitor check-in area. Once the ID data has been scanned visitors will be issued a badge to wear during their visit.

For Your Child's Safety
Students who stay after school must be with an adult sponsor, coach, or teacher from 3:00 to 5:15 p.m. The SAC/D-Hall room will be used for those students without an adult sponsor or teacher. Students found on the campus grounds without a pass will be placed in the D-Hall room. Students must have a activity bus pass in order to ride the Extra Curricular bus. They will get the pass from their sponsor/teacher/coach or the D-Hall teacher. Also, car riders need to be picked up at the front of the building promptly or are also subject to going to the D-Hall room.

Repeat offenders to the supervision rule will be subject to a variety of discipline measures including but not limited to: removal from Extra Curricular bus, restriction from after school activities, SAC, ticket, suspension and/or other available consequences. Please remind your student that he/she is not to return to campus once he/she has left the school except for a scheduled parent meeting or extra curricular performance.

Coach Irene Hopkins...
Coach Hopkins passed away on October 10th, 2012. Faculty, staff, students, and former students will miss her dearly!

Coach Hopkins dedicated 43 years of service teaching and coaching students. She was one of the teachers that started working at Nimitz when the doors of Nimitz High School opened in 1978. Coach Hopkins taught Health and coached Softball until her retirement in December, 2011.

Our school was a better place because of her influence! She was a committed, self-disciplined and passionate teacher. Her willingness to stand up for what she believed was remarkable and thousands of people have been the benefactors of this example. She made the classroom parallel with life and the students knew it. She taught everyone about attention to detail, compassion and that what is right matters more than who is right.

Celebration of Life for Coach Hopkins was held Sunday, October 14th at 1:00 p.m. It was at Calvary Hill Funeral Home on 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble, Texas 77338.

There are three foundations that were very close to Coach Hopkins’ heart and instead of flowers she requested donations be made to one or more of the following foundations:
