History
The Grantham Academy for Engineers History Department is looking forward to an exciting, new year of exploring the history of Texas and the United States of America. Please look for your child’s “History Spiral Notebook” so you and your child can share all your child has learned in their history class!

Math
Our Math department has high academic standards for our students. Our goal this year is to achieve a passing rate of 85%. To reach this goal, we have set up block classes, Plato classes and after school tutorials for those needing extra help. And for those who already in excel in Math, we offer the Math Club; an after school program designed to offer number sense tricks to improve our students mental Math capabilities.

Science
The Grantham Academy for Engineering Science Department has set a passing rate goal of 85%. To help us achieve this goal, Plato classes have been set up after school on Mondays. More days will be set up as needed. We also have a science club called GESE (Grantham Engineering Science Explorers). This club is working on Junk Box Wars and meet on Tuesdays after school. You can help your child be successful in Science class by going over the notes in the child’s journals on a nightly basis. Thank you and we look forward to a successful year.

English/Language Arts
Our English Language Arts department strives to provide instruction that will: Engage students in
self-initiated writing tasks. Encourage them to think critically and analytically in their writing. Promote writing for various purposes and in many
genres. Enable students to produce an effective composition for a specific purpose. Demonstrate a command of the conventions of spelling, capitalization,
punctuation, grammar, usage, and sentence structure.
