Magnet Schools

The Magnet Schools feature various themes and educational approaches that will appeal to a wide range of student backgrounds, interests and competencies. The Magnet Schools foster interaction among students of different social, economics, ethnic, and racial backgrounds in classrooms, extracurricular, or other activities. Our magnet schools are designed to carry out a high quality educational program that will substantially strengthen students’ reading ability and knowledge in such areas as mathematics, science, history, geography, English, foreign languages, fine arts, technology, communications or engineering. In addition, Texas has been in the forefront nationally in promoting the importance of education, and the Aldine Independent School district has gained recognition nationwide for its quality magnet schools.

International Baccalaureate World Schools

The International Baccalaureate offers three high quality and challenging educational programmes for a worldwide community of schools, aiming to create a better, more peaceful world. They are:
  • The Primary Years Programme focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and the world outside.
  • The Middle Years Programme provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between their subjects and the real world. They become critical and reflective thinkers.
  • The Diploma Programme is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students for success at university and life beyond.
