What is TRiO – Educational Talent Search?  

A program that:

  • identifies, recruits,& selects students who want to be successful in high school & attend college
  • familiarizes students with the college selection process, the admissions process & the financial aid application process
  • assesses & guides students’ interest in professional careers
  • provides intellectual & cultural experiences for ALL students
What does the program cost?
  • All services are provided at NO cost (the program is federally funded by the Department of Education)

Who can join? Any 7th – 12th grade student who has:

  • a minimum of a 2.5 overall GPA
  • good conduct grades on their report card
  • meet federal income guideline requirement (with some exceptions)
  • (is) first generation college student (parent/s did not receive bachelor’s degree)

How do I apply?

  • Applications available from Mr. Kaping or your school counselor.
